Why do I LOVE what I do, (Photography)

I truly enjoy all aspects of my craft, from the shooting of people and products, dealing with some of the characters that I shoot, and I do mean characters to dealin with some of the pain in the but behind the scenes stuff like bookkeeping. i do enjoy it all but every once in a while someone or in this case a couple stands out. I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Julio and Larissa, I was truly impressed and pleased with the couple themselves and their choice in vendors. I want to give a bow to Isis of Posh Events LLC call her for your event/wedding planning, she is scary good at what she do.

Trash/Rock That Dress Shoot

I had a trash that dress shoot this weekend, it sorta turned into a rock that dress shoot. My MUA did such a good job the shoot ended up having a fashion edge to it.

Engagement Photos

This weekend I had the pleasure of photographing Marion and Alleya’s engagement photos. It was so much fun, but the day did not start off that way, although I planned and prepared for the day, my assistant was running late, not to mention getting caught up in some traffic, luckily my clients contacted me to inform me about their progress. I let them know that I was running late and I apologize. So starting of the date with good communication help to set a positive atmosphere. Once we got a chance to spend some time talking and socializing a comfortable environment was set. The engagement session was photograph at Longwood Gardens, it was a hot and beautiful day and we got some great images. Great images happen when your clients get to know you and you get comfortable with them and make an attempt to make them comfortable.

Me And Bruce Dorn

Bruce Dorn of iDC Photography come with a long list of accomplishments, from client list that reads like a who’s who of Hollywood to being one of the Canons Exploers of Light seen @ Canon Digital Learning Center. When I ran into him at the PDN Photoplus Expo I found it irresistible to strike up a conversation with him.  Aside from just being a nice guy and impressively humble Bruce is easy to talk to and really smart. Now if you don’t know Bruce is not only an accomplished photographer, he is also a highly sought after cinematographer/director. Actually my first introduction to Bruce happened via the canon website. I was reviewing some short movies/stories and came across one that Bruce did with the Canon 5D Mark II, I wanted that camera and well the video that he did convinced me to get that camera. Well once again I will be getting something that coming from the mind of this genius man.  The  U-Boat Commander and the iDC Follow Focus are tools that attach to the Canon 5D Mark II that help produce high quality  videos. Douglas Dubler and Vincent Versace, I couldn’t resist this opportunity, to have my photo taken with two of my favorite photographers. Weather its Celebrities, beauty photography, high Fashion, Fine Art or whatever. These two guys produces some of the most provocative, though provoking captivating images ever seen. Truth be told I forged much of my creative process after these two, both are relentless perfectionists, the both have their hands in the creative process from beginning to end, they both demand the best by working with the best resources available to them at the time. That’s how I too approach my craft because its the only way to produce memorable images.

High Fashion Comes to Philly “Philadelphia Fashion Week 09”

Brooklyn Royalty in Philly Fashion Week

Thursday October 08,2009 was the first day for the first Philadelphia Fashion Week. I stopped in to check it out and I was pleased to be greeted with some of Phillys freshest designers.  The event runs for three days, the last day is on Saturday the 10th, starting at 4:00pm  ending 10:00pm. It should be a very nice function. So if you are looking for an enjoyable evening check it out. The location is 23rd Street Armory, between Chestnut and Market. The photos above is from Brooklyn Royalty they were featured on Thursday, there are seven runway shows scheduled for Saturday so be there.
